Stranger: I'm trying to take a different approach and figure out how much money is given to co-ops in grants every year.
Stranger: Because that sounds more useful than case by case analysis.
Stranger: Sadly that isn't working out very well, I mostly just find a couple of small grants for non-substantial amounts.
Stranger: However the fact I can only find a few for non-substantial amounts feels telling to me.
Stranger: And that there doesn't seem to be any wider record keeping on this.
You: as a small business owner. I think it is incredibly hard to make the means of production and for people to come together to risk their livelihood for a chance to fail just doesn't happen often.
You: I am not really sure what makes you think that living in a society where the only way to innovate is if people willing to come together to waste their time in hopes to get a little piece of the big price.
You: I am sure people would love to work at a co-op once all the issues of starting one has happened.
You: even reading the one that you like, it says the profits are distributed based on the amount of time you are there. that means that the founders still get most of the profit. feel like a very shady co-op honestly.
