You: I agree that privacy is something that we must take seriously. However, I would have to say that should remain a freedom of the individual. many people make money selling their privacy.
Stranger: Consent is different.
Stranger: Even if you click agree to some random terms, that is not informed consent.
Stranger: In fact, many systemically lie.
Stranger: Some may even legally be allowed to for "national security" reasons.
You: I understand but if you crack down on any technology that sells privacy would just stifle competition on that sector of the economy.
Stranger: Ensuring that apps don't access your personal phone's microphone is stifling competition?
You: well no, I am sure you are tripping on a huge business opportunity. grab a couple of C and C++ books and linux books and you can make an awesome business providing security for businesses. for example when bars and other companies needed low security we didn't turn to the Gov for a solution we created businesses to satisfy that need in the community.
