Competence is not always good
Stranger: Companies don't usually have a moral compass, they are there to pursue profit by offering a service
You: at the heart of a company is the desire to serve people in society.
Stranger: Not really
Stranger: Same way at the heart of the government is not the desire to serve their people
You: The only way for me to make money as a business is to convince that I am useful to you.
Stranger: Yes, but you can do that by creating a superior product with exploitative means and straight up marketing
Stranger: On the first case I don't think resources extracted from places without child labor laws are worth a cheaper cellphone
You: yes you could waste your life that way. However our society is based in competence. and cutting cost lowers quality. scamming people will make your business fail sooner or later.
Stranger: That may be true, but smaller scams go undetected
You: I understand, but once someone scams you, they lose your business forever. that is how the market regulates business. it is not perfect but far better than concentrating the power in a state.
