You: well I want to maximize freedom of the individual. I don't see the benefit of pushing for social control in the name of security

You: well that depends on how far left you are. at the very minimum you want to redistribution of wealth.
Stranger: Wouldn’t that classify as economic control?
You: yes you could classify as such, but giving that money is owned by people, you are also doing social control.
